About
Welcome to Agape Memory Jewelry & Keepsakes!

When my brother, Andy, suddenly passed away in 2015, I received a gift made with flowers from his memorial service. I loved this concept and discovered the best methods to hand craft jewelry and keepsakes using flowers from weddings, memorial services, and special occasions. Creating memory items is deeply meaningful to me, in remembrance of my brother, as well as each person wearing and receiving their own Agape Memory Jewelry and Keepsakes.

All items I create showcases the beauty of special occasion flowers using quality materials and settings to withstand the test of time. If you have recent blooms you want preserved or you have dried flowers saved from years ago.. I would be honored to make something for you to cherish for years to come.

With love,

What does Agape mean?

The Greek word AGAPE is often translated “love” in the New Testament. How is “agape love” different from other types of love? The essence of agape love is goodwill, benevolence, and willful delight in the object of love. Unlike our English word love, agape is not used in the New Testament to refer to romantic or love. Nor does it refer to close friendship or brotherly love, for which the Greek word philia is used. Agape love involves faithfulness, commitment, and an act of the will. It is distinguished from the other types of love by its lofty moral nature and strong character.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

How soon after I give you my flowers do I need to let you know what I want to order?
It is best if you have an idea of what you would like to order when we meet. We can show you some samples, and make sure the flowers you want to use will work with the product you would like made. Once we have your flowers, we need to have your confirmed order within 24 hours. We will do our best to accommodate adjustments or add-ons after order confirmation, but this is not guaranteed due to the limited time to prepare the flowers for your custom order.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, for most orders, a 50% or $50 deposit (whichever is higher) is required before we start the preservation process. This can be paid to book a future date, when we receive the flowers, or when you confirm you order (within 24 hours of receiving your flowers). The balance is due at or prior to final order delivery.
How many flowers does it take to make a piece of jewelry?
It doesn’t take much to make a single piece of jewelry, but it depends on the flower. A rose, for example, can yield enough to make several pieces, but a carnation might only be able to make 1-2 items. You may also want to think about what colors you want your final piece to be, a single flower/color, or a combination of flowers/colors.
Are all flowers able to be preserved?
While most flowers are preservable, not all are conducive to the preservation or pressing process. Be sure to tell us what flowers you are wanting preserved and what product you are wanting made with them. We will tell you ahead of time if you have certain flower(s) that won’t work well for the product you want. For example, spider mums do not preserve well for a keepsake (whole), but can be used for jewelry.
Will my flowers look the same when they are preserved as they did when they were fresh?
Every flower has its own "personality" when it comes to preservation transformation. Many flowers become darker their original color, sometimes a less saturated tone, and some change color completely. We would be happy to give you an idea of what color your flower will be once preserved based on our experience. Transformations are influenced by the flower type as well as their condition before preserving. If the flower was bruised or browning, it will reflect in the finished product. While I dedicate my best efforts to retain color vibrancy, it’s important to understand that the color will not precisely match that of freshly cut flowers. We may use color correction techniques to bring out the original spirit of your flowers. Here are a few examples:
-
Bright red roses turn to burgundy
-
White roses turn ivory
-
Stargazer Lilies go from pink and white to purple and ivory
-
Greenery: some accent greens stay a rich green, some could turn yellow or brown
How long does it take to get my finished items?
When you order, we will give you an estimated turn around time based on our current order volume, usually no less than 8 weeks for fresh flowers, but typically takes several months. Our average turnaround time in 2024 was 4 months. Flower preservation and making your keepsakes is a lengthly process, and we are dedicated to put the time and care into each of your special items to assure proper preservation and high quality standards.
